Nigerian music producer and singer, Sheyman who welcomed a baby girl last week with his wife, Cynthia Okonkwo-Ademoye has just held a soft naming ceremony in Abeokuta today and the main ceremony will be held in Lekki, Lagos tomorrow...
 
Today's event was held at the Adomoye family house in  Olomore, Abeokuta and the baby has been named Kikelomo, Kimberley, Wuraola Ademoye.

Evander Hollyfeild visits Lagos State Governor Ambode, donates $3m worth of health equipment to Lagos state


Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, today received 4-time world heavyweight champion, Evander Holyfield, at the state house Ikeja.

Holyfield is in Lagos for a charity rumble fight with former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu at an exhibition boxing match as part of activities marking the Golden Jubilee anniversary of the state.

Pastor arrested with marijuana during church service in Zimbabwe



The congregation of House of Grace Ministries Service in Highfield, Zimbabwe were stunned on Sundaywhen police stormed the church during service to arrest their leader, Prophet Shame Hungwe who they caught with a sack full of marijuana.

According to iharare, a couple had surrendered the sack full of marijuana and bottles of broncleer cough syrup to the man of God following his prophecy into their lives.
After handing them over to the pastor, Police storm the church building and disrupted Prophet Hungwe’s service. 

In frustration to arrest the couple who had already escaped before the police arrived at the church, the prophet was arrested during his service and was taken to Machipisa police station.

Police inspector, siblings killed during masquerade festival in Lagos


A police inspector and two siblings have lost their lives during a masquerade festival at Ilagbo community, in the Ibeju Lekki area of Lagos.

Some youths of Oriyanrin, a neighbouring town, had attended the masquerade event tagged, Kilajolu festival, at Ilagbo on Saturday when a clash broke out between the two communities.

Some elders of the host community were said to have sent the youths away.

It was gathered that the youths regrouped and laid in ambush for some Ilagbo youths who were returning from the festival, hacking one Ismaila to death.

A Nigerian blogger, Apeh Peterhot has been arrested by the Nigerian Police in Lagos.

The Benue born Blogger had allegedly opened a facebook pseudo account in the name of Queen Ann Ochoga and used it to defraud Mr. Philip Agbese, to the tune of N2.2m.

Kebbi State House of Assembly orders arrest of ex-governor, Dakingari for allegedly inflating N6.4b contract to N18b



Lawmakers in Kebbi state house of assembly, yesterday, called for the arrest of former governor Usman Dakingari after he failed to appear before the house over allegations he inflated an airport contract.

The house had given Dakingari up till yesterday, May 23 to appear and explain his role in a N6.4 billion contract for an international airport, allegedly inflated to N18 billion.

During its sitting on Tuesday the Speaker of the House, Alhaji Samaila Abdulmumini Kamba informed members of the House that upon enquiry from the Clerk of the House he was told Dakingari was not in the premises of the assembly as expected to honour the House invitation.

At least 11 members of staff and students of the Osun State University, Ipetu Ijesa, were allegedly injured when officers and men of the Nigerian Air Force Institute of Safety invaded the campus.
According to multiple reports, the air force men, who had been terrorising students of the University for a long time, armed with guns, cutlasses, sticks, arrived the campus in patrol vehicles and Armoured Personnel Carriers and beat up lecturers and students.

South African man killed defending his girlfriend from gang of rapists



A man has died while trying to defend his 21-year-old girlfriend from being gang-raped by 6 men in Durban, South Africa.


The heroic boyfriend, whose identify has not yet been disclosed, died at the scene and his girlfriend was taken to an undisclosed local hospital with severe injuries.


The incident unfolded when the woman and her boyfriend were walking near the Umgeni River Bird Park on last Friday evening. It is a popular walking and cycle trail. Her boyfriend did his best to defend his girlfriend from being attacked, but was assaulted and killed by the gang who had earlier got out of a Quantum minibus taxi.

Biafra Day Celebration: Enugu Police warns IPOB, BIM against sit-at-home order



The Enugu State police command has issued a warning to the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB and Biafra Independence Movement, BIM against forcing it members to stay indoors on May 30, a day slated to celebrate the 50 years of declaration of the defunct Biafran Republic.
IPOB and BIM had given a sit-at-home order to people of the region to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the declaration of Biafra by the late indigenous leader, Dim Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu. 
They are said to have been sending messages via Whatsapp and Facebook to it members to observe the special day by staying indoors as a sign of respect for those who died during and after the three years civil war from 1967 to 1970.

Nollywood actor, Olumide Bakare to be buried this Friday in Ibadan


The family of late Nollywood actor, Olumide Bakare, has announced May 26, 2017  for his burial which will take place in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The wake keep/service of songs will hold on May 25, at ST James cathedral, Oke Bola Ibadan, while the burial proper holds at the same venue on the May 26 by 10am.

Family Of 5, Killed In Lagos Shop Fire



Grief pervaded Ogunseye and Dipo Olubi streets, Aguda, Surulere, Lagos State, on Thursday following the tragic death of a family of five in an overnight fire.

The victims were a couple identified only as Hope (wife) and Hygnius and their three children, Ada, 9, Nonso, 7, and six-year-old Ugochukwu.

While the woman and the children died on the spot, Hygnius, who sustained first degree burns, died at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja.

Drama At Lagos Airport As DSS Arrest Man Hiding $70,000 In His Luggage



One Samson Olukunmi, a traveler has been arrested by operatives of Department of State Service at Muritala Muhammed Int'l Airport, Lagos for being in possession of undeclared $70,000.

Olukunmi, a resident of 14 Omidun Street, Lagos Island was accosted at the airport by the DSS operatives on suspicion of money laundering.

Olukunmi was caught after he denied being in possession of such amount of money but when he was subjected to a search the foreign currency was found hiding in his luggage.He was immediately arrested and taken to the DSS office for further interrogation.

Over 1000 Nigerians Are In Chinese Prisons



The Chairman of Blue Diamond Logistics, China, Mr. Festus Mbisiogu, has called on Nigerian Government to urgently look into the growing number of Nigerians detained in Chinese prisons over allegations of drug trafficking, saying more than 1,000 Nigerians are in Chinese prisons.


Speaking on the backdrop of a protest in Abuja, yesterday, over the increasing number of Nigerian citizens in Chinese jails, he urged state governors to embark on enlightenment campaigns to discourage indigenes of their states against drug trafficking. 

Nigerian Arrested with Cocaine in India



Alleged drug lord, Eneh Wilfried Amobi, has been apprehended by security operatives in India in possession of cocaine worth as much as $1.4million.
Amobi was nabbed at a suburban railway station in Mumbai.

Popular newspaper, The Hindustan Times, said a team from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) caught him after a tip-off by a ticket checker.

According to an official, 47yrs old Amobi was caught with a large quantity of contraband.

FG Money! Court orders forfeiture of N449m found in Lagos shop to FG



Justice Rilwan Aikawa of the Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the final forfeiture of the sum of N449,597,000 found in an abandoned Bureau de Change shop in Victoria Island, Lagos by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC on April 8th.


Justice Aikawa gave the order for permanent forfeiture after no one came forward to claim ownership of the money.

How Moji Olaiya died on her way to the Hospital

Veteran actress, Patience Ozokwor has opened up on her marriage to her late husband. 
Speaking to Rtv,Patience Ozokwor revealed that she was forced into marraige by her parents at age 19, and wasn't giving any choice as she couldn't disobey them because she wasn't brought up in that manner.
"It was not my decision. And if it’s not my decision then I was forced into it. I did not see any reason my parents were forcing me as I was still young. And even at that age I had so many suitors and they just wanted me to get married. You know when you come from a polygamous family and your mother is struggling for her own daughters to get married and this other one is also struggling for her own daughters to get married and when this one came around and I said no I should make a choice. but I was not allowed to make that choice. They didn't give me that choice and at the end, I had to obey my parents. I was not brought up to disobey them at all."

Hobobo, a native of Agbere town in Sagbama Local Government Area of the state, was reportedly stabbed to death by assassins in his residence on PDP Road, Yenagoa, the state capital.

Fox News CEO is dead



Founder and Former Fox News CEO, Roger Ailes who celebrated his 77th birthday on Monday, died this morning at his home in Palm Beach, Florida. 

His death was first announced by his wife,  Elizabeth Ailes, in a statement on Drudge Report.

'I am profoundly sad and heartbroken to report that my husband, Roger Ailes, passed away this morning. Roger was a loving husband to me, to his son Zachary, and a loyal friend to many. He was also a patriot, profoundly grateful to live in a country that gave him so much opportunity to work hard, to rise and to give back," she said in a statement.

One dead, scores injured as car hits pedestrians at Times Square, New York


One person was killed and at least 13 people injured when a car struck pedestrians in New York’s Times Square this evening, May 18th. For now, it is not being regarded as a terrorist act. The driver, who is said to have a history of DWI arrest, was said to either be drunk or on drugs when he ploughed his maroon Honda Accord into people. The case is being investigated...

12-year-old son of late Super Eagles boss, Amodu Shuaibu is dead



Close to a year that the country lost former Super Eagles Coach, Shuaibu Amodu  to the cold hands of death, the family is mourning the loss of his teenage son, Suleman who died after a brief illness on Sunday.It was gathered that the 12-year old died while on holidays in his home. He was a JSS2 student of Navy Secondary School, Abeokuta.

It could be recalled that the Late Shuaibu Amodu died at the age of 58 on June 11 2016.

Breaking News:Chibok Girl' escapes from Boko Haram captivity



One of the abducted Chibok schoolgirls has escaped from her Boko Haram captors. The girl was found by government troops while she was escaping, Femi Adesina said, without giving details,BBC reports.

She was among 276 girls seized by Boko Haram from north-eastern Chibok town in 2014, sparking global outrage.

 A total of 103 of the girls have been released so far, including 82 earlier this month in a prisoner swap.

The police in Abia state are currently on the trail of a six-man gang that butchered and shot dead 48 year old Pastor Nnaemeka Ukenye (pictured above), who is the leader of one of the popular Pentecostal churches in Umuahia, Behold He Commeth Pentecostal Church in Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia  State on Saturday May 13th.
Pastor Ukenye was killed on his farmland. He had gone to feed the birds in his poultry located at the Umuobia Housing Estate, Umuahia, Abia State capital when his killers came out from the bush,  chased away his workers, shot him dead and then butchered his body.

A Nigerian woman, Mrs Ajibola Adeboye has delivered a set of sextuplets after 17 years of marriage.

Mrs Adeboye delivered her six children, 3 boys and 3 girls, at the Virginia Commonwealth University Teaching Hospital (VCU) Richmond VA. USA, on May 11th, 2017. Mother and children are said to be doing fine.

According to her husband, Mr Adeboye Taiwo, they were asking for just one child but God surprised them with six. He said they didn't know they were having a set of sextuplets until they had an ultrasound.

He is seeking for help from the public as well as the government. More photos below...

EFCC arraigns Whistle Blowers in High Court for giving false info


The EFCC on May 16, 2017 arraigned the duo of Buhari Fannami and Ba-Kura Abdullahi on two separate one count charge before Justice M. T Salihu of the Federal High Court Maiduguri, for allegedly giving false information to the agency under the whistle blowing policy.

Fannami had misled the EFCC with the information about illegally acquired monies purportedly buried at the residence of one Ba’a Lawan but the info turned out to be false after the execution of a search warrant, while, Ba-Kura Abdullahi also gave false information to the effect that large sum of money in naira and foreign currencies were buried in the residence of Ba’a Lawan.

Benue State-born bride-to-be, Queen Ann Ochanga and her fiance were killed in a fatal auto crash while travelling from Port Harcourt to Lagos. The couple got engaged in 2016.

Ann studied International Trade Relations at Coventry University, United Kingdom. Her last post on Facebook was on May 12 and it reads: "Whatever God allow to come our way is meant to strengthen us in some way..."
