Man Accuses Police in Edo State of receiving N450,000 to retrieve stolen car
A Nigerian man identified as Osahon A, has called out the Nigerian Police in Edo for allegedly receiving the sum of N450,000 from a friend who was robbed of his car in the state.

Missing Ex-Chief of admin in the Nigerian Army, Maj-Gen Idris Alkali found dead
Major General Idris Alkali, a former Chief of Administration of the Nigerian Army, who went missing since September 4th, this year has been found dead.

Kenyan man accidentally kills his 18 month son
A Kenyan family living in the US has been thrown into mourning pain after the father hit and killed his 18-month son while reversing his car.
Mr Dan Mutuma, a nurse in Kansas City, was reversing his car from the parking when the child, Mishael Mutuma, walked unnoticed behind the vehicle, and was crushed.
The child was the grandson of Pastor Moses Mutuma of Miathene SDA district in Meru County, Kenya.

Police arrest 8 herdsmen over Benue killings
The Police in Benue say they have arrested eight herdsmen over the death of 10 persons and seven livestock guards in Guma and Logo Local Governments of the state on Monday.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Moses Yamu, announced this in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday in Makurdi.
“Eight herdsmen, six in Guma and two in Logo, had been arrested in connection with the attacks,” the police spokesman said.He added that the command had made additional deployments to the troubled area to forestall further occurrence and restore confidence of the people.

A young lady, Bose Christopher, has been arrested for alleged involvement in cultism, just 24 hours to her proposed wedding ‘introduction’ in Abeokuta.

Operatives of the Nigerian Navy (NN) attached to the Operation Awatse busted a hotel in Lagos where Petrol is siphoned from the pipeline of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
The operatives also arrested eight suspects including a Police Inspector at the premises of the hotel - Glonik Hotel at 31, Social Club Road, Abule Egba.
Those arrested were Insp. Lukeman Rabiu of the Lagos Police Command X-Squad Unit, receptionist Gladys Daniel, waitress Rachael Oludara, housekeeper, Adegoke Adetunji, tanker driver, Waliu Teller, Oluwaseun Oguntoyin, Victor Vincent, 19, and Bobola Kuti, 28.
Inspector Rabiu allegedly had N1.4 million, a laptop and other valuables in his car. Sources said some police officers were already lobbying for Inspector Rabiu’s release.

Uber Drivers who Take Ladies to ATM to Rob Them Nabbed in Lagos
The drivers, Fosta Rufus, 30, and Franklin Jogbodo, according to the Special Anti Robbery squad boss, Mohammed Sanusi, picked up their targets around Lekki, Ajah and VI areas of Lagos.
It was gathered that the suspects were accused of robbing their victims of valuables such as jewelry, expensive phones and cash, and their victims are mainly ladies who go out at night.
This is the second of such arrest of Uber drivers in Lagos.

Ex-Policeman, Friend Arrested For Robbing Two Brothers
An ex-policeman, Kenneth Chikwe, and one Livingstone Uzohu, have been arrested in Awka, Anambra State, for allegedly robbing two brothers of their cars.
The state Commissioner of Police, Garba Umar, disclosed this at the police headquarters in Amawbia, in the Awka South Local Government Area of the state while parading some suspected criminals.
He said following a distress call that the two brothers were robbed of their cars, the police launched an investigation, which led to the arrest of the dismissed policeman.

The General overseer of mountain of liberation and miracles ministry, Pastor Chris Okafor, has opined that Biafra is a spirit and cannot be killed with guns, arrows, and not even with a nuclear bomb.

More than 40 men were arrested over the weekend for homosexual acts in Nigeria, police say.

Badoo attacks: Lagos Police warn residents living in isolated areas
The Lagos State Police Command has warned Lagos residents against living in isolated and unsafe areas where they might be vulnerable to attacks by hoodlums.
The police spokesperson in Lagos, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, said in a statement that the warning became necessary following the murder of four family members at Ibeshe, Ikorodu, at the weekend.
“A murder incident was reported during the early hours of Sunday, July 30 where police operatives of the Lagos State Command responded to a distress call at Oke Ota, Ibeshe, Ikorodu area of Lagos State.
“Mobilizing to the scene, police operatives found it extremely difficult to locate the house which was situated in a thick forest where it is remotely impossible for anybody to identify a dwelling house in the area.
Ghanian Actress arrested over nude pictures
Ghbase.com is reporting that Ghanaian-Nigerian actress Christabel Ekeh is presently in Police custody over the nude photos of herself she released on social media.
According to the platform, the actress is being interrogated by the Ghana Police in a bid to tighten up indecent exposure laws in the country.
Recall that earlier this month, the actress sent the internet into a frenzy when she released her naked pictures on her Instagram page which later was blocked.

Some youths of Oriyanrin, a neighbouring town, had attended the masquerade event tagged, Kilajolu festival, at Ilagbo on Saturday when a clash broke out between the two communities.

South African man killed defending his girlfriend from gang of rapists
A man has died while trying to defend his 21-year-old girlfriend from being gang-raped by 6 men in Durban, South Africa.
The heroic boyfriend, whose identify has not yet been disclosed, died at the scene and his girlfriend was taken to an undisclosed local hospital with severe injuries.
The incident unfolded when the woman and her boyfriend were walking near the Umgeni River Bird Park on last Friday evening. It is a popular walking and cycle trail. The Enugu State police command has issued a warning to the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB and Biafra Independence Movement, BIM against forcing it members to stay indoors on May 30, a day slated to celebrate the 50 years of declaration of the defunct Biafran Republic.
IPOB and BIM had given a sit-at-home order to people of the region to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the declaration of Biafra by the late indigenous leader, Dim Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.
They are said to have been sending messages via Whatsapp and Facebook to it members to observe the special day by staying indoors as a sign of respect for those who died during and after the three years civil war from 1967 to 1970.

Family Of 5, Killed In Lagos Shop Fire
Grief pervaded Ogunseye and Dipo Olubi streets, Aguda, Surulere, Lagos State, on Thursday following the tragic death of a family of five in an overnight fire.
The victims were a couple identified only as Hope (wife) and Hygnius and their three children, Ada, 9, Nonso, 7, and six-year-old Ugochukwu.
While the woman and the children died on the spot, Hygnius, who sustained first degree burns, died at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja.

Drama At Lagos Airport As DSS Arrest Man Hiding $70,000 In His Luggage
One Samson Olukunmi, a traveler has been arrested by operatives of Department of State Service at Muritala Muhammed Int'l Airport, Lagos for being in possession of undeclared $70,000.
Olukunmi, a resident of 14 Omidun Street, Lagos Island was accosted at the airport by the DSS operatives on suspicion of money laundering.
Olukunmi was caught after he denied being in possession of such amount of money but when he was subjected to a search the foreign currency was found hiding in his luggage.He was immediately arrested and taken to the DSS office for further interrogation.
