French club Bastia offers Warri Wolves €1m for Sunday Mba

French Division Two club CA Bastia is ready to sign Nigeria midfielder Sunday Mba and has sent a transfer request of €1 million to Warri Wolves in what is expected to be a four-year deal.

Two other two Ligue 1 clubs namely Toulouse, Ajaccio are also eager to sign the player while Auxerre have also extended an invitation to him. But Bastia looked more eager and desperate to have the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations hero in their team.

Mba left the shores of Nigeria on Sunday night aboard Air France from the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport, Abuja, to undergo a week of medicals and fitness training.

The 25-year-old was recently listed in the Goal 50, a listing of the best players in the year 2012/13.

Bastia who want to build their team around the Eagles offensive midfielder sent a letter of offer to Warri Wolves to signify their interest to sign the player they rate so highly.

Mba thanked Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi for giving him the permission to go for the medicals with Bastia and promised to return to Nigeria in time for the 2014 World Cup qualifying match against Malawi in Calabar on Saturday, September 7.

"I also send my gratitude to Warri Wolves for giving me the permission to go for the medicals at Bastia. I pray that it will work well so that I can move to the next level in my career," Mba said.
