John Utaka moves to Turkey to join Sivasspor

The Super Eagles winger has parted ways with Montpellier and joined the growing number of Nigerians in the Turkish Super Lig

Former Montpellier striker, John Utaka, has moved to Turkey to join Sivasspor and increase the number of Nigerian players plying their trade in that country.

Utaka signed a two-year contract at the Turkish club after he became a free agent at the end of July and he will be coached by legendary Brazilian, Roberto Carlos, who left Russian billionaires, Anzhi Makhachkala.

Turkish Super Lig outfit Sivasspor announced the capture of John Utaka on a two-year deal.

Utaka played 28 league matches for Montpellier last season and scored six times but he will be remembered fondly by the supporters by being part of the team that won Montpellier its only league title in their history in the 2011/12 season.

He also won the FA Cup with Portsmouth in 2008. He moves to the club as another Nigerian, Michael Eneramo departed for Besiktas.
