Helen and Les Brown, a couple of California sweethearts born on the same day and married 75 years ago, died earlier this month - one day apart.

They were 94.

Frank Castillo drowns in lake

The body of Frank Castillo, a former major league pitcher, was found at the bottom of a lake Monday in Maricopa County, Arizona. He was 44 years old. -

He was boating with family and friends on Bartlett Lake, about 60 miles from Phoenix, when he decided to go swimming and ended up drowning.

A poor swimmer, according to his family, he didn’t surface and a 911 call was placed. A dive team from the sheriff’s office began a search late Sunday.

Castillo's body was recovered Monday.

Castillo went 82-104 with a 4.56 ERA in 13 years for the Cubs, Colorado Rockies, Detroit Tigers, Toronto Blue Jays, Boston Red Sox and Miami Marlins.

Dr. Robert Ferrante allegedly laced an energy supplement with cyanide and gave it to Dr. Autumn Klein, a neurologist at the university's medical school, hours after they exchanged text messages about how the supplement could help them conceive, according to a police complaint.

Convicted Nigerian rapist to be deported from UK

Convicted rapist, Ekene Anoliefo, 38, who is a son of a Nigerian politician, has lost his appeal to stay in the UK and will be deported back to Nigeria after serving time for rape.

Ekene was jailed for nine years for the rape of a 19 year old woman in Aberdeen, who he pretended to help before holding her captive in his car, driving her to his flat and then raping her there.

Ekene had been fighting to stay in the UK since he was ordered for deportation in December 2012, claiming that deportation would breach his human rights. His lawyers argued that he had lawfully lived in the UK for four years as a student and had hoped to remain in the country after serving time but the UK government don't want to hear none of that. They said he's 'a dangerous sexual predator' and want him out of the UK.

The number of calls we have received over this falsehood is unbelievable. People calling to find out what was going on.  I tell you now and this is the absolute truth- ''My wife is my best friend, she's my queen, she's my everything, our families are doing great and doing very well together. Anyone thinking otherwise is only wasting his or her time. 

I am not going to allow anyone disrespect my Mother-in-law wrongfully. I am not going to accept this. They have stepped way out of line this time and I am not going to take it lying low. We would definitely seek legal redress.

Governor Rochas Okorocha sacks Nkiru Sylvanus

Famous Nigerian actress Nkiru Sylvanus has been relieved from her job at the cabinet of Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State.

She served as the Special Assistant on Lagos Affairs for the Imo State Government. She was sacked following a cabinet dissolution which affected all commissioners, special advisers, senior special assistants and special assistants in the cabinet.

Tito Vilanova Steps Down As Barcelona Coach

Barcelona have confirmed that Tito Vilanova has stepped down as manager to undergo further treatment for cancer.

The Spaniard took over from Pep Guardiola last summer, but the club revealed in December that he was unwell with parotid gland cancer for a second time .

He returned to management in late March after Jordi Roura took control.

Barca president Sandro Rosell and director of the football Andoni Zubizarreta addressed the media and the playing squad on Friday evening to confirm the news.

"After evaluating routine tests on Tito Vilanova, he is to undergo a process of treatment incompatible with being Barca coach," Rosell said.

He added: "This is a big blow for Barcelona, but Barca have received many blows and have always overcome them."

Rosell confirmed a new manager would be announced early next week.

It was reliably revealed that the woman who’s married to her third husband with Adaeze and her younger sister from different men, allegedly controls the marriage to the extent of advising her daughter against getting pregnant for Yobo even after Joey, their son is almost three.

The reason she gave her daughter, we further learnt is because she needed to get back into her sexy shape just in case things no longer work out between her and her Plateau born hubby and might require her re-marrying.

WOOLWICH MUDERER ATTACKED IN PRISON

Michael Adebolajo, one of the two men who attacked and killed soldier Lee Rigby on May 22nd at Woolwich, has been injured in an attack in the prison where he's being kept, according to reports.

Prison officials said the attack occurred on Wednesday July 17th at HMP Belmarsh prison and Michael is believed to have lost two teeth during the violent incident. 

Daily Mail reports that several officers were called in to help after Adebolajo began acting violently, and he was injured during the subsequent melee in the prison’s high-security wing.

The murder suspect received medical treatment in the prison but did not need to go to hospital.
