An alleged diesel thief has died Monday morning after he was
electrocuted by an electric barbed fence in Plateau while trying to steal
diesel from a compound.
The suspect, Mr. John Aboy, and two other men had attempted to
get into the compound they planned to steal the diesel around 3am before Aboy who
led the group was electrocuted.
On seeing what happened, the two other men took to their
heels and left Aboy to his faith. Aboy was later found hanging dead on the
electric fence in the morning by passersby and residents of the area.
Police on patrol were said to have arrived the scene and took the hanging corpse away. Plateau State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abuh Emmanuel, advised people with criminal tendencies to look for reasonable ways to make a living, saying crime does not pay and this is what ends it.
