Yeni Kuti's ex husband Femi Segun dies



Popular broadcaster, PR guru, humanist, businessman, speaker, master compere, Yeni Kuti's ex husband and renowned writer, Mabel Segun's son, Femi Segun, has passed away. He died today at a Lagos hospital due to complications from multiple injuries he sustained from an accident he had with his powerbike last week Friday, March 14th. He's survived by wife and 2 daughters, Rolari & Fikemi.

Too sad. May his soul rest in peace...amen.

Gunnmen Attack Senate President,David Marks convoy in Imo State



The convoy of Nigeria's Senate President, David Mark, was attacked yesterday by unknown gunmen who specifically targeted the vehicle in which Senator Mark was to enter, Channels TV reports.

David Mark was on his way to the burial ceremony of late business mogul, John Richard Anyaehie in Nkwerre Community in Imo State when the attack happened.

Report say no life was lost in the attack.

Man Who Killed Four, Imprisoned, Later Released Now In Another Fresh Murder

 
A 28 year old man known as Oriyomi Adigun, pictured above is now on the run after killing his close friend, Oluwafemi Adekeye, 32, in the presence of his 3-year old daughter, on 12 February, 2014 in Ayobo Ipaja area of Lagos.
Oriyomi and Oluwafemi according to Police allegedly belong to a gangster group, but Oluwafemi later pulled out, and Oriyomi is believed to have killed him because of that.

Gay man kills wife and burns her body after marrying her to hide his sexuality



A bank worker who married to conceal his homosexuality strangled his wife a few months later with a metal vacuum pipe, a court heard yesterday.

Jasvir Ram Ginday throttled Varkha Rani and tried to destroy her remains in an incinerator after going through with the arranged marriage to please his parents.


The couple tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in India last March – even though Ginday, 30, had confided in a friend years earlier that he was attracted to men, the jury were told. Continue...


 The defendant had travelled to  the subcontinent with his mother to find a bride and met several women before a match-maker known to both families introduced him to Miss Rani.

Prosecutor Debbie Gould told a jury the couple became engaged ‘at the end of a meeting which lasted several hours’, with Miss Rani’s family believing Ginday to be ‘a perfect match for their intelligent, well-educated, and attractive young daughter’. 


How Nigerian undergraduate was killed in Ghana



On February 19th, the body of a Nigerian student studying in Ghana was found. Godwin Awogbo (pictured above), a 300level student of Social Sciences at the University of Cape Coast in Ghana was killed by unknown person/s and his body dumped by the roadside. February 20 was no doubt one of the saddest days for the family of Mr Fred Awogbo. Their son, 18-year-old Godwin Awogbo, was brutally killed. His body had been found with some his internal organs gorged out, with his hands and legs tied.
Godwin Awogbo’s lifeless body was reportedly found on the school campus. For days, everyone seemed to be clueless about what could have prompted such a brutal death. While the thoughts of Godwin being a cultist came to the minds of many, his friends, however, were quick to assert that Godwin was a cool-headed person with no such connection.

Ghana jails Nigerian for stuffing cocaine in fufu


A Fast Track High Court in Ghana has sentenced a Nigerian trader, Isaac Idowu Shobola to 10 years imprisonment for stuffing three parcels of cocaine in Neat “fufu”

The parcels of cocaine which were stuffed in neat fufu powder were to be mailed to the United Kingdom a report in Ghana Vibes online said.

Shobola pleaded not guilty to two counts of conspiracy to commit crime, attempted exportation of narcotic drugs and unlawful possession of narcotic drugs without authority.
The court presided over by Mr Justice Mustapha Habib Logoh found him guilty on the charge of possession of narcotic drugs without authority.
