Photo: Woman beat her teenage son to death in Ogun State, hurriedly buried his body and escaped to Lagos

Ogun State Police Command have arrested a housewife for allegedly beating her 16-year-old son to death on March 17th. Spokesperson for the Command Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the arrest on Friday, March 25th, said the suspect Bisola Olukoya committed the crime at Onifade-Itele town of the state.

Olusegun Obasanjo’s wife files suit in Lagos court to stop son’s wedding



Mrs Taiwo Obasanjo, wife of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, on Monday filed a suit at an Ikeja High Court, seeking to stop the wedding of her son, Olujonwo Obasanjo, scheduled for May 11.

Ex-President Obasanjo and the father of the bride, Sir Kessington Adebutu, promoter of Premier Lotto known as “Baba Ijebu” are respondents to the suit.
Mrs Obasanjo, who is the twin sister of Chief Kenny Martins, the former Coordinator of the Police Equipment Fund, is seeking a postponement of the wedding of her son, Olujonwo to Tope Adebutu scheduled for May 11 and May 12.

UNILAG Student Dies Moments after Returning from a Nightclub

University of Lagos Student identified as Tope has been reported to have died at the institution’s Medical Centre after she didn’t get prompt medical attention.

PUNCH reports that one of the students at Moremi Hall where the deceased resides, said she started gasping after returning from a nightclub around midnight.

“Tope was squatting here. She went to a club and returned around midnight on Thursday. It was not long afterwards that she started gasping. We rushed her to the UNILAG Medical Centre, but they blamed the student who allowed her to squat in her room. Tope eventually died, while the other student is being threatened with eviction,’’ the student said.

Nigerian singer, Oritsefemi Majemite Ekele has relocated into a multi million naira home in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.

The musical Taliban as he is fondly called has also acquired an office space to help strengthen his business chain that includes; Oritsefemi Oil & Gas (OFOG), MSN G Entertainment and Oritsefemi NGO (Feed a Child).

 Oritsefemi has also employed a new manager, Miss Karachi Maduforo @theladykara as his personal manager while Danku remains as head of A&R for MSN.

He started from Ajegunle to Festac. He later moved from Ikeja to Lekki phase 1, a few years ago.

Omoyele Sowore reacts to Ahmadu Bello University VC affirming Dino Melaye as a graduate of the insitution

Sahara Reporters publisher, Omoyele Sowore, has reacted to the statement by the Vice Chancellor of the Ahmadu Bello University, Ibrahim Garba, affirming that Dino Melaye graduated from the institution with a 3rd classin Geography in the year 2000. Sowore reacted on his Facebook wall.
"Folks: Let me quickly react to the farcical and highly tactical and well-choreographed declaration by the Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Prof. Ibrahim Garba while he was appearing before the Nigerian Senate earlier today.
Prof. Garba claimed that Senator Dino Melaye "graduated" according to "available records."

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Sunday narrated his prisons experience and declared that he did three things while he was in Yola and Kirikiri prisons serving a jail term for a phantom coup charges by the late military dictator, Sani Abacha.

He also said there should be no position that a man should find himself in life where he should not be useful to God.

He also posited that the major challenge in life was not how to stay alive but “what to live for and what to live with.”

Suspected Fulani Herdsmen Kill University Staff In Delta

Gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen have reportedly killed a 55-year-old senior official of the Delta State University, Mr. Sunday Idama, in Ethiope East area of the state.

Mr. Idama, an official of the Library Department in DELSU, was alleged to have died of machete cuts inflicted on him when herdsmen invaded his cassava farm at Ovre-Abraka, on Saturday.

The incident had since sparked public outrage over the unabated attacks by herdsmen on farmers in the area as herdsmen and their cattle now habited deserted farmlands.

Ahmadu Bello University VC appears before senate, confirms Dino graduated from the institution with a 3rd class


The Vice Chancellor of the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Professor Ibrahim Garba, appeared before the Senate Committee on Ethics and Priviledges this afternoon. The commttee is investigating allegations of fake certificate from the school leveled against Dino by Sahara Reporters.
At the hearing, the Vice Chancellor stated that from their records, Dino Melaye formerly known as Daniel Jonah Melaye, graduated with a 3rd class in Geography in year 2000.
